God's Workmanship

I am the Poem You are the Poet.
Rhyme by rhyme created by every deed
Written for eternity in Your book of life.
I am the words You write the song.
Stanza by stanza every beat of my heart
Becomes a song that fills you with joy or sorrow.
I am the book You are the Author.
Line by line Your book contains every prayer
Every hurtful word or action that I say.
I am the masterpiece You are the Artist.
Every life touched by Your love through me
Is painted on Your eternal heart.
I am Your workmanship striving to be
Someday like You, my Creator.
The Creator of the Poem, the song,
the book, the masterpiece.
I am Your poem, song, book
and masterpiece, not yet finished.
You the creator are designing me into Your perfection.
You who have written the truth on the hearts of all.
If we would just allow you to start to write.
O the power to be Your poem.
I am awed to be written by You.
Being written means I am forever in Your book,
Your everlasting book of life.
My name and my life can never be erased or blotted out.
Although my sin has been blotted out.
Blotted out by an ink stronger than ink known to man.
Ink Blood red.

2 Corinthians 3:2-3 You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
