Is This a Pen of Gold?

Is this a pen of Gold I hold,
All filled with Heaven’s word?
And, can I find the words to tell
The ones who’ve never heard?

Oh, fling the javelin to my hand.
But, shine upon my heart.
Give me just the words I need
To catch a willing heart!

I want to be Your soldier,
Walk through the world with You.
I want to be so brave and open,
Writing what is true!

First, take my heart, Sweet Spirit.
Fill it all full of love
And, make me so forgiving,
I’ll be like those above.

Then, let me teach a lesson that
The world will recognize,
A tale of truth and beauty;
The wisdom of the wise.

I sit here yielded, longing, and
Listening for Your call ~
To write the words the way You like
Or write them not at all.
