Heart so prodded, by Your Spirit,
I’m grace-nodded, as I’ve read it
In Your Word, through Your Son;
Gospel heard, me You’ve won;

You’re my One, my highest Plane,
Provoking Son to be my aim;
I have no other goal to strike,
But You, Brother, to be like;

You’re my Grace and my Mercy;
My heart’s Face, Identity;
I gain Your will and Your mind,
When I am still, for You’re kind;

I want to die, I want to break,
For You on high, my greatest Stake;
Just let me burn by higher love,
By grace unearned, You thereof;

So I come, washed with water,
To the Son, to the alter;
I set my flesh upon its stone,
His will to mesh, with my own;

This is my joy and greatest peace,
In His employ to the least;
I sense His hand on my heart,
A love so grand; ne’er to part;

For my life, I see no place,
Even in strife, but in Your grace;
So I choose incarnate death;
Spirit-infused; this, Your breath;

My soul screams for Your presence,
To touch the seams of Your essence;
I will not leave until I have this:
To You, to cleave, my own mind’s bliss.




Author's Note: These lines came to me with this weekend of intense meditation and prayer. Upon completion, I wondered what I was trying to say here.

I realized that this, to me, is what it means to say, "In Jesus' name..." at the end of the our prayers.
