People Need You Lord

People need you Lord,
That isn't hard to see
We're all searching for something,
Hoping to be free.

Our lives are empty Lord,
Though we've tried many things
Always finding something new,
Hoping contentment it will bring.

We're never contented Lord,
Every road stops-dead end
Always seeking, never finding,
Our whole lives we may spend.

People need you Lord,
You can satisfy our souls
You know the yearnings of our hearts,
Cleanse and make us whole.

People need you Lord,
Make a beacon light of me
I want to shine in darkness Lord,
And direct those souls to thee.

I'm unworthy Lord,
To be used by you
But the blood of Jesus,
Is what you view me through.

So please us me Lord,
Whatever place or way
May my eyes be open,
To the lost I meet each day.
