This was written for my 9 year old sister just before she was going into her 3rd back surgery to fuse her spine.

Whitney was born with multiple birth defects which includes an extreme curviture of her spine restricting her movement and her lung growth.

Whitney has only one functioning lung and that lung only works at about 60%.

She will endure countless more surgeries throughout her life.

There was a beautiful princess. Her name was Whitney Katrina. Now Whitney Katrina was not an ordinary princess who sat in her lofty tower and snubbed the people below her. What Whitney Katrina had as her wealth was worth far more than any kingdom could contain.

Whitney Katrina’s wealth was worth more than all the lost treasure combined in the depths of the dark seas. Her throne was not inlaid with diamonds and rubies; her crown was not made of the finest, purest gold. She did not eat her Fruit Loops with a silver spoon embellished with green sapphires. And her bed coverings were not spun of the finest gold and silk threads.

What this beautiful princess did have was a magical smile that was so fervent it would melt the heart that was stone cold. Her eyes sparkled like the clearest blue diamonds. Her golden brown hair looked like the finest golden threads as the sun glints off of it as she plays on the beach by her castle.

Her love and compassion that she has for everyone she meets, especially her nieces and nephews, is worth more than all the rubies in the world. Her sweet disposition could never be fathomed, even when she feels sad or in pain. She has the strength of five sumo wrestlers, for I am sure they, or I, could not withstand what the princess Whitney Katrina has had to withstand in her nine years of life. Her hugs are worth more than any worldly possession I could ever hold and I am privileged to have had the pleasure.

The princess Whitney Katrina’s Heavenly Father looks down on His wonderful creation and says, “It is good. For when you are weak I am making you perfect my beautiful child.”

The Starr’s shine down and praise God in the heavens for showing them endurance through this young princess.

The princess’ Mother and Father shower their princess Whitney Katrina with all their love and affection for showing them how the weak can show such amazing strength.

This princess smiles when she could cry. She laughs when others would be angry. She is joyful when others would be cross. She beams when others would be disheartened.

This princess Whitney Katrina is the richest princess in the whole world wide. And this author is equally as rich, just at having the privilege to love and be loved by the Princess Whitney Katrina!
