I am 65 years old,
but,
I am not done
with
life yet.

It is not
a physical thing
or
a mental thing,
but more
a spiritual thing.

I have not
completed
what
I’m here
to do
yet.

I don’t know
what it is
I am
to do,
but
it does make me
feel
like a young
high school
or college
student with a
full life ahead
and not yet sure
what to do with it.

I am a writer.
I am a woodworker.
I work at a full time job.

I am a husband.
A father
of many years,
and
I am not done
yet.

I am a
baby boomer
or pre baby boomer
at least
and have not
been on the cutting
edge of the generation wave,
but the rising swell
that signals
the full wave
and roar that is yet
to come.

I am there now
and I am not done yet.

I am
a physical, mental, spiritual
being
having been prepared
through a long life
to step forward toward
the finish line
when
I’ve completed what
I’m here to do.

Oh, I will
know
when it is done.

I will
try
to be prepared
to recognize
what it is that
will complete
me here
and meet it
with grace, understanding,
love, and preparedness
to accomplish all
in a Christ like manner.

In the meantime,
with Him,
I
pray, prepare,
and look forward
to
the meeting of
His will and
mine
in the future
whatever it holds
and
until the end of time.
