I am standing on Your promises, Lord.
Much confusion all around me
People everywhere.
Angry people yelling,
Where is mine? Why not me?
Why can't I go first?
Don't let her or him. They are not as important as I.
Meanwhile, my soul is at rest.


Car horns are honking.
People yelling-You've got to do something!
You are interrupting my travels.
Don't you know how important I am?
Move aside. Let me go in front of you.
Nevertheless, my soul is at rest.

Lord, You promised me peace that surpasses all understanding.
Buying groceries
People all around.
Someone opens a checkout stand.
Someone else blocks my path.
They say, “I'm in a hurry. I must go in front of you. Don't you know I am more important than you?"
Meantime, my soul is at rest.

Lord, hold my hand.
You promised me that you would control my mind, will and emotions (my soul).
People, all around.
Questioning, how can you be so calm?
Isn't your heart pounding?
Your temples throbbing?
Your mind racing?
Don't you feel what we feel?

I see all that's happening!
One thing I have learned
Is that God is in control
It is all past my understanding
That's why God gives us peace, if we ask Him.
Not to escape trouble, but to go through.....
At the end is victory
Then we give God the glory
Finally, my soul is at rest.
