He Is Enough

“He is enough,” I tell myself
When tears would drown my soul
“He is enough” to fill my heart
From these fragments make a whole

The portrait of my life I’d paint
So different it would be
From that painted by the Master’s hand
Who all things so clearly sees

There’d be no hues of black or brown
On the canvas of my life
No shadows cast, no wounds endured
By hardship, pain and strife

I’d paint it all from brilliant hues
Of happiness and joy
Of treasures sought, and treasures found
Those are the hues I would employ

But Another Artist holds the brush
From darker shades He paints rich depth
Into the portrait of the life He sees
Reflecting what He knows best

So when those wounds that break my heart
That cause my soul to weep
Bury me beneath their lies
I’ll let my Master speak

Speak to me of pain He bore
All for the love He knew I’d gain
Love that’d last beyond these years
With offerings so vain

I’ll let His whisper fill my heart
With comfort I know true
“I Am enough, My precious one
I’ll bear your pain for you

“I Am enough to fill the ache
You think you can’t get through
I Am enough to be your joy
That’s what my love will do”

I hear His words within my heart
So as those teardrops fall
“You are enough,” I whisper back
“You are my all in all.”

I'm reminded of an article I wrote quite a while back about the dark colors in a painting. Our brilliant colors wouldn't be so brilliant without the dark ones, would they? This poem speaks VOLUMES. I love every Holy Spirit-inspired line! Sis, it's a JEWEL, genuine and lovely!

Thanks Deanna, I needed to read this. There are times when we feel as though we need someone to throw us a lifeline. Beautiful
