Talents

Ref. Matt. 25:14

The Lord handed out those talents -
Ah, but yours were so much more...
And I, so shy and timid
Thought to hide mine under the floor;

But...(how did you manage all that time to
Mentor and instruct?) -
Because of your persistence
I had a lot of luck

Now...when we stand before the Lord...
Our talents at His feet...
I know He'll know - you could have had more
But for the time you spent with me...

I think your deed will bring a smile
Much deeper to His heart,
Because you loved and nurtured and
Helped me develop my art.

So...not in shame or shyness shall
I stand - a trembling soul,
But confident I did my best - because
You helped me set the goals.
