Somebody


Somebody wanted their freedom.
Somebody said, "It's no use."
Somebody gave up trying
To secure the sacred 'noose'.

Somebody (finished with patience),
Dreamed of a better life.
That's okay for somebody.
But, somebody had given new life.

Little somebody, too, was someone,
And he loved both his Dad and his Mother;
Although they could both find somebody else,
He didn't want any other.

So he hid his love for his Mommy,
And his hid his love for his Dad -
And he tried, (how he tried!) to remember
The home that he once had had.

Is it so easy to discard
The vows that were promised to God?
Why is it always granted?
Why the affirmative nod?

Is there never a judge to utter,
"You promised 'til death do you part.
So, go home and make new beginnings
And do this with all of your heart!?"

Many a home might be salvaged,
Many a child saved the tears,
If someone would learn forgiveness
And put themselves last, through their fears.

For, no violent storm lasts forever.
What's torn down, again can be strong.
And, marriage destined for failure,
With God's help, can last a life long!
