Mother, you taught me and took me to school.
You dressed me well, and fed me well.
You hugged me and spanked me.
You prayed for me and spoke with me.
Thank you.

Mother, you directed me, but didn't force me.
You forgave me when I went astray.
You listened to me when I wanted to talk.
You prayed with me and spoke with me.
Thank you.

Mother, I am a woman now
But you are still there for me
Sharing your experiences, encouraging me with my dreams
Preparing me for my new family.
Thank you.

Mother, I am a man now.
You've shown me that women can be beautiful and sweet,
Hardworking and loving, though not perfect.
You've helped me to prepare for my new family.
