Dreams

What are dreams and who do they come from?
Now this can be answered very quick. Dreams come from God and the devil. How can that be you may ask. Well the devil will give us dreams that are not good dreams. And God will give us dreams that are good. There again I may have some one say well God can give bads dreams. I don’t think God is going to let you dream about sex, drugs, murder, demons killing people. I don’t think these dreams are from God. Do you?

Think about what the word dream and what it means. We all have our own definition of what the dream means. So, this is what Webster’s Dictionary of Modern English says,

“Dream is a vision during sleep, think of as possible, see, imagine in dreams, and very pleasant.”

Dreams can be that just a dream. Sometimes I will dream things that I wander what is the meaning to that and it is nothing. Then there are other times that I have had dreams that have scared me out of my sleep for the night. Now when those nights happen I did watch something that I should not watch. I really have to put a graud on my mind when it comes to things like that. And I am glad that God is so merciful that he gives me another chance on the dream thing and helps go to sleep the next night. God is so wonderful in so many ways.
Well I felt lead to share with you some scriptures on dreams. I did not go into detail with the scriptures. I am leaving that up to you to look up these scriptures and the word dream your self see what you find out about Dream.

I am going to start with Jude 1:8 and go on from there. These scriptures are going to let us know about dreams, what they are for, why we have them, and what we can do about the good dreams and the bad dreams.


Jude 1:8
Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak evil of dignites.

Judge 1:16
These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.


2nd Peter 2:15
Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness.

Jeremiah 23:25-28
I have heard what the propjets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? Yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart; Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten that hath a dream, The prophet that have a dream let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? Saith the Lord.

Now a dream may be a dream and should be told as such. And God’s word is to be spoken with absolute truth.

Job 4:12-16
Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a little thereof. In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falleth on men, Fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones to shake. Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up: It stood still, but I could not discern the form thereof: an image was before mine eyes, there was silence, and I heard a voice, saying, shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his maker”

The last part of this verse will give you something to think about. I really never paid attention to what it said until now. It dose make you think.

Here are more scriptures on dreams

Revelation 2:7
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; to him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

When we turn our ears to God we will hear what he wants us to do. When we stop putting garbage in our home, car and work then things will change. Until we get the garbage of the world out of our life’s and home than it is heard to hear God. God wants us to hear very word he says with out having to repeat it a hundred times. I am not a hundred percent on this but I believe that when we have God dreams is because wants us to see what he is telling us too. Because I think we are just filled with so much things during the day that we don’t hear him. Which we should but sometimes we don’t. So, I think that is why sometimes he will come to us in a dream, or a vision.

1st Samuel 16:23
And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.

Psalms 127:2
It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

Matthew 18:10
Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angles do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

I feel that even children have dreams that are not from God. More than adults do. This is just my opinion. I can not back it up with scripture. It is just my opinion.
I can say this though as I parent that I noticed when my kids watch certain cartoons they don’t sleep as good as when they don’t watch T.V. at all. So, I have been watching what they watch at night. And there has been times they don’t watch nothing. But things that we put in our minds can come in our dreams. I have had so many bad experience with that. I even have to watch what I watch at night or hear during the day. Because I will dream it that night.
One thing that I have found that works for me is when I say my prayers at night I say God, I will only have dreams from you, I will not have any dreams from the devil. I have pled the blood of Jesus Christ over my mind so the devil and his evil works can not enter in. I see a change in my dreams when I do that. I also see a change when I don’t pray over my mind.

Jude 1:20
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

We can have dreams with out even trying to have a dream. I remember one night I had a very bad dream and the thing was I was not even think about that stuff. The next night I prayed and asked God to help me with the dreams. He did help me. Also my pastor made a statement about telling my mind that it will not dream, dreams of the world or the devil. That my mind would dreams according to God. And if I could not have dreams that were from God than I did not need to dream. And from that night on, I have been praying that way and I have not had many bad dreams. If only I did this when I was younger I would have slept better. See, God wants us to have dreams from him, he wants us to be able to take control and tell the devil, Hey! you have no place here devil. As a Christian we have the right in Jesus’ name to do that.
