I have climbed the srairs to heaven,
too many times to count.

I have battled many demons,
in my world of the lost and found.

There were times I had made it to the top,
all I needed was just a hand.

To pull me to perfection,
but I could not seem to stand.

I stumbled back a step or two,
and had fallen to the ground.

I told myself I had fought too hard,
and I will not lose this round.

So I stood back up wiped away my tears,
and proceeded to the top.

But fear had caused me to look back,
to recognize the drop.

Overwhelmed and startled ,
my legs began to shake.

I lost my footing once again,
but realized my mistake.

Look staight ahead,
do not look back kept playing in my head.

It has kept me on my journey,
though I have not made it yet.

I continue to climbed to solid ground,
yet I have not made it through the door.

And though many battles have been lost,
I will not lose the war.
