There may be tattered jeans
you haven't time to mend
for more important things
are there for you to tend

There are tears to dry
and there are lives to mold
laughter for you to hear
and little hands to hold

You really needn't worry
about things out of place
not if there's a smile
of your precious child's face

A dish can surely wait
if there's a hug to hold
and dinner will always keep
for a story to be told

There is no need to rush
doing chores that may arise
if you see that twinkle
in your child's eyes
