Forminad looked Quickly from side to side, watching for danger. He was atop a high mountain, on a ledge with a vertical cliff dropping down into the ravine below in front of him. On his left and right, the cliff formed walls around him. Behind him, was also a cliff face. He looked up quickly , and to his relief, did not see the gigantic black dragon looming above his head, ready to devour him on a moments notice. No doubt she would, should she find him in her nest. He quickly took off his pack, knelt down beside it and opened it. He turned a bit to his left, there lay a pile of dried grass and leaves. He knew he shouldn't be on dragon mountain, the most popular dragon nesting reigon in all of northern Amthrianel, but he wanted to get some dragon eggs to sell in Cabevo, on the other side of the Zormundil mountains. One could become very rich by selling the dragon eggs. And that sounded very appealing to the ex-begger. The Dragons, although they couldn't fly, made their nests on the Cliffs of Mt.Dragon. They got up there from their hunting grounds in the valley by sinking there claws into the sand stone cliffs. He brushed off the top layer of dried vegetation,and to his joy he saw 5 large dragon eggs. Each, as was common with dragon eggs, were differently coloured. The colour of the egg always matched the dragon inside. There was a gold one,a brown one a green one, a purple one, and the rarest of all dragon eggs, a white one. He greadily stuffed the eggs into his pack. it only fit four, so he carefuly took the white one, since it was most valueable and must not be scratched, and put it under his arm. He turned to go up the rope ladder he had left hanging one the cliff face. It was lying on the ground torn in at least four places. He looked up to see her, about to pounce from a higher ledge. He jumped off the ledge, and fell... down into the river that ran in the ravine... down into the abyss. There was a roar from above... then all was silent.
