What fabric is Love?
That it’s tinsel strength
Holds the world at bay
Both depth and length?

What materials made it
So strong as to tether
Two individuals so different
Into one being, together?

What elements, combined
Soften edges to keep
A mother, father, child
Wrapped in comforting sleep?

What fires inside it
Make it shine through the night
So you know your lover
In a room with no light?

What makes it beam
On the face of a friend
‘Til they draw their last breath
As they face their end?

These are those threads
Of invisible strands
Woven through the eons
By their Creator’s hands:

Beautiful tapestries
Of life it creates
In each of us
As He orchestrates

Joy and peace...
Longsuffering, too...
Gentleness, goodness
Meekness, eschew...

Temperance, against which
There is no law...
And last, but not least...
Faith sizes it all.

Each string is alive
With color and verve...
For maintaining bonds
Betwixt Spirit and nerve.
