Yesterday, into our safe haven came,
Terrorists attacked, hoping to leave America crippled and lame.

From within, never conceived threats arose.
People across the nation shuddered and froze.

Do we retaliate, do we take action?
Where do we aim, what destination?

Who are our enemies, who are allies?
And what terrible battle shall arise?

All our young men, will they be called to fight?
Will they fly away in the middle of the night?

To places unknown, in far distant lands
We must realize our fate lies in God’s own hands.

Why and how can this happen?
We ask God, “Is this part of your plan?”

The future seems dim, the world unkind.
Payback and revenge has entered our mind.

What is our duty, what is our destiny?
God will answer our prayers and hear our plea.

Bombs may drop and towns may burn.
Confusion and chaos have had their turn.

Evil has reigned and death has occurred.
Our faith is being tested and our blood’s being poured.

America stand strong and gather your strength.
War seems inevitable and we don’t know the length.

Fear and terror can be heard in our voice.
Weeping and mourning must take their course.

But are we prepared for the next event and what is to come?
We all know America won’t remain numb.

This whole tragedy seems impossible and odd.
Where do we turn…we turn to God.
