In foreign dreams thy feet did trod
As happy drops of summer rain
Thou passed along the grateful sod
And lent my heart its joyous gain

My resting brow made memory there
And offered up my Godward plea
I longed for travels true and fair
To introduce my soul to thee

‘Twas not a painful length of time
But long enough and steady so
My dearest Savior took His palm
And buried seed within to grow

At last, due pilgrim, thou came to take
My fertile heart and make it thine
From deepest dream my frame did wake
And gazing forth, was treasure mine!

Our union's mark has held its place
And onward under Heaven's view
Devotion girds our love's embrace
And journey we as dreamers do.
