I wanted to the hear the Angel speak,
And find the path of glory;
Attain the highest holy peak,
In all that’s in store for me;

To go so high, I went far down,
This, the path of holy men;
To live Your life of great renown,
I had to die in spirit from sin;

I died, and gained the breath,
Of the righteous King and Priest;
The One who died a righteous death,
Yet lives again to save the least;

It’s then, I find the greater truth:
That, with Jesus, there’s no higher,
With history and the Spirit as proof;
He is the Lord and no dead liar.
