Faith

Sometimes when I'm talking with someone, I find myself almost afraid to mention Jesus's name. Not because I am ashamed of him, not because I'm afraid of how the person I'm talking to will react to the mention of His name. It's because I sometimes feel so unworthy of calling Him my friend--it's because I am so ashamed of what I am that I feel I don't have the right to say, "Jesus".

When people look at me, when they talk with me, they can tell that I am such an imperfect being. I mess up, often. I say the wrong thing, I do the wrong thing, and my first reactions are usually stupid.

I am afraid that I will bring shame to Jesus--that when people see me, they'll only see me and not Him. So I won't bring Him up. Still, I hear,

"If Jesus and His Christians will take HER, then I guess they'll take anybody!" I worry people think this.

But then I think--that's the point. That's the goal, that's the message. That IS what I want people to say. That IS what I want them to think.

It's true. If Jesus will accept me--Jesus will accept anyone. All you have to do is call Him. He'll most definitely answer.

Please give this some thought. Please don't blame Jesus for my shortcomings. They're my fault, not His.
