Now I know what is meant by a lost child,
Memory rolls over past, like luggage piled,
Hard, living years finally wearing me down,
Alcohol and drugs coated mind, I drown,
How to unravel blame in accused mind,
A caged animal running out of time,
Bull headed, I made my life a hard way,
Listen to no one, or I would see you pay,
Blamed everyone for all wrong with me,
Tough living, ends, in a hotel with fleas,
Hung over, foul-mouthed, with ton rack of pain,
About to meet up with someone who knew my name.

So, I am wondering is there life out there?
'Cause there sure isn't any found in here.
Staring outside nothing but falling, cold rain,
Just reminded me of my life, every drop is pain,
Jumped in my truck, headed nowhere, just drive,
I think, do world a favor and just die,
Somewhere in haze, I see glimpse of a fool,
People always said, I was stubborn as a mule,
I came to a man's house I had long known,
I sat down and began this confessing monotone,
"I'm not proud in what my hands have done,"
"No vice untouched, in lust, to have some fun,"
"It is hard to look at you, eye to eye,"
"This lifestyle I have begun to despise,"
Man asked me, "Who holds your heart reigns?
Let's stop what is driving you insane,
There is nothing found new under God's sun,
The Lord knows you and what you have become,
Tell Him with your heart, rest it His feet,
What you are looking for, Jim, is His peace,
You do not have to sit in any church,
Or be led by a preacher on this search,
Believe me, the Lord's waiting for your call,
So, what's to lose? Time to give Him your all,"
I said, "I want to talk to Him alone,"
I knelt, years of tears pouring out of stone,
"Lord, I am beyond repair, can't you see?"
"I am not proud of my life, here, lately,"
"I have lived in rage, ripping self to shreds,"
"In this pit of hell, inside I feel dead,"
"Would you clear my name by Your Holy Blood?"
"Time to get serious, I have had enough,"
"I ask you, Lord, to live in my heart,"
"I need another chance, Sir, a new start."

Years have passed since I met the Lord that night,
Keep touch with the Lord to keep life right,
Life lived forward, my past is gone now,
I am one of many who can tell you how,
Now I know what is meant by a lost child,
Life tormented in a fake world, gone wild,
Anger like fire, unquenchable flames,
What was fun turned into a hell untamed,
Who would have thought I'd say to you all,
When the Lord comes to you, do yourself a favor, answer the call.
