"May you be alive when you are alive".

I'm telling you, all those quote books certainly have some eye-openers contained inside. Some of these quotes need to be read several times before you get it, but then it just jumps right out and smacks you right between the eyes.

So many of us live our lives waiting for things that haven't happened--things that may never happen. We're so busy planning for tomorrow that we lose today. All those precious moments within the 'now' of our lives just wasted, squandered, disregarded.

"I can't wait for my vacation, my raise, my new job! I can't wait til I'm a teenager, a wife or husband, a mom or dad, a grandparent! I'm too busy to talk to you now--maybe I'll call you tomorrow!".

But, WAIT!

What's going on with you right now? How's your life right now--today?

Planning for the future is important and we all need to do it. But if you're losing today in the process of planning for tomorrow, something is wrong. Tomorrow isn't guaranteed to any of us--this day, this moment, may be all we have.

Jesus taught us that in our planning, we must always preface it (and remember)--"If it is My Father's will, I will.....".

Dear Father, if it is your will, I will do my best to capture every moment, even the bad ones, of my 'NOW'. I will try not to throw away these moments while waiting for something more. Your grace is sufficient for me. This day is enough for me. While I eagerly wait to see what You've got planned for me next, I will revel in what You're doing right now, and I will glory in what You've already done. In Jesus name, Amen.

Do you need to check to be sure that you're alive now? I think it's worthy of a little thought--how about you?

God bless you.
