A man with a will stronger than iron
A will that was powered by a divine force-
He was head to toe compassion filled
Had a great vision to accomplish:
‘Stop the inhumane trade. Let my People go!’

So, with Pitt and Claxon on his side
He wrestled with the forces of darkness
Determined to turn the evil tide
Parliament was to end its blindness-
Their enslavement to the slave masters.

Those shylocks will stop at nothing;
Demanding death or a pound of flesh;
Their evil trade, a sore that was festering;
Their conscience had been sold for cash
Africa, the market for evil trade.

They put a price on every head
Rampaging through out the rain forest
Driven by profit, gain, gun and greed
They pillaged, raped, looted and wasted
But Wilberforce’s will was to assail.


They all gathered in opposition
Wanting to topple his position
They opposed from motion to motion
Protecting their blood-money pockets;
Aligning with local brutes, sell-outs.

Watch out! That spirit still lingers,
Trafficking, trading in poor people,
In prostitution, in cheap labour
however it is masqueraded,
Slavery, is slavery, is slavery.
