A Different Me

Lord, I’ve grown so tired
Of this life I’ve called my own
Choosing my own pathways
Reaping what I’ve sown

Lord, I’ve never been more ready
For a brand new start
Take this human shell
And tear it all apart

Oh, Lord, give me-
A different voice
To praise your Holy name
A different ear
To hear all that You say
Different eyes
Set straight ahead that never veer
A different life
Built on faith, not fear
A different mind
To dwell on things above
A different heart
Shaped only by Your love

Oh, Lord, create a different me

I’m so tired of this human part of me that seems to keep falling back into my old way of thinking, living and being. I just don’t want to bear any of those old things any longer, Lord.
Lord, my fervent prayer is for You to take over every single part of me. Take over and be my thoughts, my actions, my day to day living, my very being. I’m not asking for help with these things, because I know that none of these things are in my power to change at all. I’m asking You to completely take over, run things, manage my life, be You except in my body. I’m not asking You to take over in any particular element of my life, but in every single aspect. Throw everything that belongs only to me away, and make me totally Your creation.
Thank You, Lord, for working on me. I know that it must be a very tedious and labor intensive project to take on, so thank You for everything that You have done and everything that You will be doing within me.
I Love You, Lord.
