I fill alone in this long dark night.
I pull the sheets and covers up tight.
I try to fill my mind with beauty and glee.
There’s sadness in my soul that just shouldn’t be.

The day is thick and grey in tone.
I can’t find the strength to leave my home.
Worries and cares fill my mind.
My mirror agrees, my brow is lined.

I look all around me, nothing but lies.
With pain in my heart, tears fill my eyes.
My hands sweat, my heart pounds.
Through the window, lots of people but only frowns.
~Let the sun shine down~
A load of might to rise from this couch.
Today Ill try, Ill try not to slouch.
Maybe a walk will give me some peace.
Maybe then this sorrow will cease .
Let the sun shine down.
Isn’t there anything to pull me out of this groove?
Is this my fate, does calamity behoove?
Has this life finally dealt me its final blow?
Has anyone on this earth ever felt so low?

I feel as if my world is caving in.
I’ve put my dreams and trust in the power of men.
Thus broken, wrecked, discarded, forsaken.
It seems all the wrong paths and roads I have taken.
~Let the sun shine down~

At last I see, this doesn’t have to be!
God’s power and valor, its shines through me!
For this is the day the Lord has made!
This euphoria, this joy, it doesn’t have to fade!
A vow I’ve made, a promise iv been given!
For I realize now, that am a resident of heaven!

Halleluiah, Lord Let Your SON Shine Down!
