Letting The Son Shine In

Finally the 2004-2005 school year ended for Leticia Martin and Kim Deutsch. Their summer vacation now began for the two high school sophomores. When the sun first began to spread its gentle warmth over the sleeping citizens of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Leticia began her sunbathing for roughly fifteen minutes each and every day. No matter how sleepy or tired she was Leticia, she could be observed sticking to her daily sunning routine. By the end of June, Kim began to notice that her best friend had developed what she described as a “lovely glow” about her person. A glow that suggested Leticia had been spending a great deal of time sunny herself.
“Gosh, Leticia,” responded Kim, “you radiate a glow of good health!”
“Really! As you know I’ve set a daily sunning routine. I did this because I’ve learned that in order to tan and not harm my skin I should tan slowly and regularly. Even when I don’t feel like sunning myself some days, I do it anyway because I know the results will be for my good.”
Many Christians who are proud and happy concerning their faith tend to exhibit a “lovely and radiant Christian glow” about their persons. If they are asked, they will generally say they developed their Christianity a little bit at a time, sitting quietly in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, bathing in the radiance of His Being. I’m very certain they would tell you they experience cloudy, uncertain periods in their Christian walk. As well as periods when they experience powerful, challenging times when nothing seems to go right. They will also say they feel as though God seems to have abandoned them. Yet, in time, gradually, quietly, their lives have been transformed. They radiate the inner beauty that reflects the light of Jesus Christ on all whose lives they touch and influence. The secret—regularly.
Is letting the Son shine in on you part of your daily life?
