Have you seen the commercials for a certain cellular phone service that feature Joan Cusack? I love them because they are so funny, and she's just so cute! Others in my family just find them totally annoying, especially when I turn the volume up!

I love the one that has Joan standing near a revolving door and as the people come out, she points to each one and says, "Charge!" Then, after explaining the various benefits of this particular cell phone service, as the people emerge from the door, she points at each one again and says, "No charge!"

Because I'm a person who relates all aspects of life, mine at least, to the spiritual aspects of life, I am presenting to you my own 'commercial' along the lines of the cellular one. I will follow their script basically, just changing the reactions and the words.

Picture this: You are in a revolving door. The door has a name. It is called LIFE. As you emerge, along with many others, you sense a presence. You can't see this presence but you feel it.

"Guilty!" you hear and though you cannot see the finger pointed straight at you, you know it is there. "Guilty! Guilty! Guilty!"

What would you do? Would you scatter and run like so many of those around you seem to be doing? Would you get angry? "Hey," you say. "I haven't done anything wrong. I'm a good person. I go to church, help the poor, pay my bills on time. I'm an upstanding citizen. I'm not guilty of anything!" Would you turn your back on the unseen, but mightily felt, presence? Or, like me, would you probably be rooted to the floor, frozen, caught between the knowledge that, yes, you are certainly a 'good' person, and yet knowing that indeed you are guilty, even if you aren't quite sure of what? Would you feel shame? Curiousity? Wouldn't you want to know what particular crime you've committed? Can't you feel the pull coming from that direction? It's irresistable!

Fight or flight? Hmmmm. You stand there. Then you turn towards the voice. "I know I am guilty. You're right! What should I do now?"

And, though you still can't 'see', suddenly you SEE! You see HIM! You are talking to HIM! HE is talking to you! You just want to stay right there, in His presence, forever!

But, back in that revolving door you must go, at least for now. Lots of people on here this time too. As the door spits you out into the lobby again, this time you recognize the unseen presence. He's been going everywhere with you lately. Wherever you have been finding yourself, not matter the circumstances, there He is! You know Him!

You can feel His smile as well as His unseen finger once again pointing at this one and that, and YOU, as He says, "Not guilty! Not guilty! Not guilty!" And though you know you are, and you will forever be in reality 'guilty', He has accepted you anyway, and you smile back at Him, confident in His love.

And you can hear as He says, "These are my children, in whom I delight, as they delight in Me!"

Yep, that's my version of that cell phone commercial. Sure would like to see that acted out!

But wait! I do. Every single day of my life.

Praise God! He is just so GOOD!
