The darkness surrounds me as a thickening soup; my ears are filled with cries for help. I stare in the direction of the weeping, but to no avail. I scamper around hunting them, but it’s as if I have scales on my eyes. In the distance I can see a beacon that shines like pure gold.

Something inside is drawing me to this great light, but I must locate those that cry out. I can feel the warmth radiating from the city of light, the closer I get the stronger I become. With each step my eyes begin to clear. I can see those that cry for help, as I run to them. I lift them up and carry then towards the city until their strength returns. I sprinted back to help the others, but the dark void zaps my strength. I could go no further back so I let out a mighty scream; your strength is in the light. Do everything you can to make it to the light.

I turned around and started running to the light, the closer it became the brighter it got. When I arrived at the city, I felt as if I was clothed in the light and there were three rainbows encircled over the city, joined together as if one. And they were suspended over what looked like a throne and the light radiated from the throne. I wanted to stay, but knew I had to go back to help the others. As I left and began to run, I noticed that the light went with me, and strengthened all those that I helped. And when they made it to the city they were robed in the light, one by one the light overcame the darkness until the old world past away and the new earth was birthed.

the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned." (Matthew 4:16) NIV

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:14-16) NIV
