The tyrants Bible would read, "Let us make God in our image." When this task is near complete the words "Let us now remake man in the image of the God we have created" would be essential.

The above scenario has been in progress since Adam was booted from Eden. It has reached much a higher plane in our generation.

Carl Rogers is lauded as one of the more 'sensible' psychologists. He was a thorough humanist and approached his therapy from that perspective.

Consider the following statement and grasp the fact that this statement codifies the program of our modern world to bring about a spirit of hopelessness which is permeating the bulk of humanity in our time.

"Yes, it is true, psychotherapy is subversive. Therapy theories and techniques promote a NEW model of man contrary to that which has been traditionally acceptable."

That which had been traditionally acceptable is of course the Bible based teaching used throughout the centuries of Judeo/Christian teaching. The word of God teaches essentially that in order for man to properly function he must be a proper relationship with his maker, hence the Bible is the true manual for living. Simple, yet it was effective for thousands of years, and still is when people understand and submit to the wisdom for living the truly abundant life.

The new model of man, rejects the God of the Bible, and leans rather on the warm fuzzy words of psychobabble of modern psychotheology. The false model of man has him looking within, esoteric, in opposition to the biblical instruction to look above, exoteric, and find the needed wisdom and strength for living from the source of life, Jesus Christ.

Mr. Rogers leaned heavily on the value of confession in order for healing to result. He did not call it confession, nor do I mean confession in the Roman sense, but the Bible teaches that confession, acknowledging wrong thinking, feelings and actions and repenting, meaning to admit, the biblical principle oft repeated when teaching on 1John 1:9, 'agree with God' and turn around or as the old country preachers used to exhort, 'Quit your meanness.'

Because the model for the new person is centered around 'self' he/she has a horrible time accepting the necessity to deny self and to live for the glory of God and the benefit of others, especially those who depend on him/her.

Most recipients of 'Christian' counseling (often Freudian in church settings) would do better to kneel at the feet of Jesus and give up the quest for the life selfish cloaked in religious garments.
