Have you ever noticed that no one ever says “it’s only a game” when they’re winning. For your game plan today, I hope you are a winner.

Many years ago, we spent several days with some friends on their own private island on a lake in Northern Canada. That was the quietest and most peaceful place I have ever been. At night it was so quiet that you could hear a mosquito think.

If you have young children, the nicest thing that they could give you is a day of peace and quiet. Everyone needs some ”space”, some time of their own. If you could just get away for a short while -- just you, your Bible and your God, and perhaps a hymnal. “‘Sol-i-tude’ -- the state or quality of being alone or remote from others” -- so states the dictionary. I’m sure that sounds wonderful to some of you. Others may be so lonely that you want just the opposite -- you need some interaction with others.

In either case, you still need that quality time with your Lord. Isa. 32:17, “And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.” As a believer in Christ, you have been given the righteousness of God. As a result, may you have the peace, quietness of spirit and the assurance that is promised. Have a great day!
