When earthly love has let us down
and we feel there's none around,
our faith in people, Lord, has fled,
our spirits feel just like we're dead.
In the midst of the tearful nights
when sleep has fled and peace takes flight
you let us know that you will love us
and your love will never leave us.
When cares come to sweep away
our only comfort, your light of day
we run to you, oh yes, we plead
guide us Jesus back to thee.
