Swept away from mother's womb
little shuttering life
her spirit left her body
and entered eternal life

Heaven's orphan angel
looked down from above
and shed a tear of sorrow
because she was not loved

So she retuned to mommy's side
and cuddled tenderly
Mommy felt the loving warmth
from the child she could not see

Nights when mommy lay awake,
nights when mommy cried
she felt the soothing comfort
of the angel by her side

Stronger grew the angel
in power and in strength
protecting mom from danger
her earthly time was spent

When on death's bed mommy lied
and for forgiveness begged
little angel held mom's hand
and softly kissed her head

As mom's heartbeat weakened
her angel she did see
and in a dying breath mom gasped
"Have you forgiven me?"

The little angel nodded,
"I have forgiven you."
and she took her mom to heaven,
that's just what angels do
