Talking recovery
recovery from what
really doesn'r matter
what sin have you got ?

Something bothering you
wrecking your home
yes he might have you
the devil does roam.

Not saying that it's for everybody
but a 12 step program
might be for you
counting our blessings and hearing
what others are going through.

Could ring a bell
I remember that
I was going through hell
not a clue where I was at.

Stumbled into a meeting
drunk and in a maze
listened to some more
maybe better days ?

I thought there might be something
about those 12 step programs
for me could it work
might relieve me from self
acting like a jerk !!

Encouragement and love
is what you might find
I try to hit a meeting
making the time.

So I asked one
how did you do it
what brought you through
see me after the meeting
I'll share my thoughts with you.

Wow you did all of that
and still here today
blows my little problems
totally away !

Tried it one day
and it sure wasn't easy
a couple of hours of not drinking
didn't seem to please me !

But I stuck it out
one day at a time
with Gods help
today I walk the line !!
