Encouragement
I pray for you my brother and sister
that some day you will find
the gift of being sober
having clarity of your soul and mind.
I remember waking each morning
with the thought
I would turn over a new leaf
before long with a beer in my hand
I had lost all belief !
Demons galore
been down to the pits
dark alleys and more
dirty deeds done cheap
looking to score !
The battle was on
and I was losing
choices to make
and the wrong ones choosing !
Dear Lord I prayed and prayed
till I had no more to say
finally surrendered I am sober
God has taken the desire away !!
