Okay, Christmas is only three days away now. How is everyone progressing with their shopping and planning? We're muddling along--went to Wal-Mart today and looked at my husband, who was looking back at me the same way--and we left without buying one single thing--well, except for two cans of dog and cat food. We just couldn't handle the craziness. I suppose I will have to plan on shopping very late at night sometime in the next few days or something.

My tree is up and beautiful, my menu is planned and underway for this glorious occasion, and my heart is light for now. My son Kevin has moved back home(AGAIN!) so at least we know he is safe for now and out of drug central. We are feeling confident that we will be able to sort through some of these issues and hopefully help him to be able to stand on his own two feet this time. Please pray that God will touch my son and help him reflect and take his responsibilities seriously. Also pray for my and my husband's strength just now.

I will be thanking Jesus that I did not have to plan my husbands funeral this week. He was involved in an incident with a tractor trailer last Friday which totalled his car. He suffered minor injuries, but we both know that when his head struck the windshield and busted it, his survival was due to the grace of God, and the fact that he didn't strike it just a tad harder. He would have gone through it were it not for God's protection and we know it.

We are seeing things with new eyes, in a sense, and this is a good thing. Try not to become too complacent within your own lives--you just never know how tiny the thread may be between this life and the next. Don't let the craziness get to you. Don't let the crazies get to you. Try to maintain your own bubble of peace even if you are surrounded by utter chaos.

So, here's wishing all my wonderful FW friends the most blessed holiday this year. You guys have helped me through some very hard things and were it not for you and your support, I'm not sure I could make it. I don't know any of you, yet I KNOW all of you.

Thank God for friends. As the countdown to Christmas Day winds down, I'm praying that you all are feeling serene and calm and reflecting on the 'reason for the season', as I am.

Thank You, God, for the gift of the baby in the manger, and the hope you've given all of us.
