Home Alone

The snow arrived early for Christmas, the airport was closed and roads were impassable. Children were released from school and the merchants had to close their shops. People all over the country were stranded in airports waiting for the snow to stop. These travelers would be faced with the decision to wait it out or turn back. Some will probably be spending Christmas in the airport alone, far from their loved ones.

This brought to mind, that Christmas can be a very lonely time for some. There are so many who have no families to share this special holiday with. We have the elderly who are in nursing homes and our family and friends serving in the military, fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sometimes we are blinded by our blessings to the point of not seeing those in need. These needs can be filled with as little as a phone call to wish them well or a visit.

Most of the travelers can turn back and be with loved one, but those who are shut in and live alone who have no families, have no where to turn. They have so much love stored up in their hearts, waiting for you or me to share it with. I challenge you brethren to step outside the box this year and share Christmas with someone who has no one. This is the spirit of love we need to show. This is a golden oppurtunity to shine brighter than we ever have, don't let your light get snuffed out this year!
