Encouragement
Since I always like for La Moyne to sing before I preach, she will ask what song I would like.
My favorite is "It will be worth it all when we see Christ".
Here are the words to this song and I think you will see why I request it each time.
'When We See Christ'
'Oft times the day seems long, our trials hard to bear,
We're tempted to complain, to murmur and despair;
But Christ will soon appear to catch His Bride away,
All tears forever over in God's eternal day.
Refrain:
It will be worth it all when we see Jesus,
Life's trials will seem so small when we see Christ;
One gliimpse of His dear face all sorrow will erase,
So bravely run the race till we see Christ.
Sometimes the sky looks dark with not a ray of light,
We're tossed and driven on , no human help in sight;
But there is one in heav'n who knows our deepest care,
Let Jesus solve your problem - just go to Him in pray'r.
Refrain
It will be worth it all when we see Jesus,
Life's trials will seem so small when we see Christ;
One gliimpse of His dear face all sorrow will erase,
So bravely run the race till we see Christ.
Life's day will soon be o'er, all storms forever past,
We'll cross the great divide, to glory, safe at last;
We'll share the joys of heav'n - a harp, a home, a crown,
The tempter will be banished, we'll lay our burden down.
Refrain
It will be worth it all when we see Jesus,
Life's trials will seem so small when we see Christ;
One gliimpse of His dear face all sorrow will erase,
So bravely run the race till we see Christ.'
(Words and music by Esther Kerr Rusthoi)
Sometimes we sing "It Took a Miracle" accapella because some churches where we go, may not have a pianist.
When we decided to call our tape/CD production 'It Took a Miracle', we wrote to the author, John W. Peterson in Arizona for his permission. We rec'd the nicest letter, stating that not only was he giving us permission to use his song, but that he felt honored that we were naming our tape/CD after his song.
"It Took A Miracle":
'My Father is omnipotent
And that you can’t deny;
A God of might and miracles;
'Tis written in the sky.
Chorus
It took a miracle to put the stars in place;
It took a miracle to hang the world in space.
But when He saved my soul,
Cleansed and made me whole,
It took a miracle of love and grace!
Though here His glory has been shown,
We still can’t fully see
The wonders of His might, His throne;
'Till eternity.
Chorus
It took a miracle to put the stars in place;
It took a miracle to hang the world in space.
But when He saved my soul,
Cleansed and made me whole,
It took a miracle of love and grace!
The Bible tells us of His power
And wisdom all way through;
And every little bird and flower
Are testimonies too.
Chorus
It took a miracle to put the stars in place;
It took a miracle to hang the world in space.
But when He saved my soul,
Cleansed and made me whole,
It took a miracle of love and grace!'
(by John W. Peterson)
Christmas is a reminder that the day of miracles is not over!
Also, Christmas is all about seeing Jesus anew...
as the Christ of the CRADLE...
the CROSS...
and the CROWN.
Of course we see and feel Christ now because of:
SALVATION...
the SPIRIT...
and the SCRIPTURES.
But nothing will compare when we see Him 'Face to Face' (my Dad's favorite hymn).....
or 'How Beautiful Heaven Must Be' (my Mom's favorite).
For the Wise Men to see Him was tremendous as they had traveled so far. (Matt. 2)
They presented gifts and rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
They had followed the star to The Star-Jesus!
I'm sure that they knew the Old Testament Scriptures...
like Micah who foretold the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem. (Micah 5:2)
Anyone who seeks Jesus is Wise if:
1) they follow God's leading
2) they respond in faith
3) they worship Jesus
The Shepherds (Luke 2:8-20) also saw Jesus.
The angels appeared and the Heavenly message was,
"Fear not, for behold I bring you Good Tidings of Great Joy which shall be to ALL people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior Who is Christ The Lord."
They realized the Glory of the moment, but nothing like when they saw Jesus.
They even told others who then 'wondered at the wonders'.
They continued to glorify and praise God about their experiences.
Oh that we would feel the same joy, glorify and praise God...
and tell others about our Lord.
Aged Simeon (Luke 2:21-34) had hoped to see the fulfillment of The Promise....
and he did!
My prayer is that all who read this (you and your's) will see Christ and experience FULL Salvation before your years are gone.
Remember that it takes a Miracle (that we call Salvation).
I love the old song 'I Believe in Miracles' by Kurt Kaiser:
'I believe in miracles,
I've seen a soul set free.
Miraculous, a change in one
Redeemed through Calvary.
I've seen a lily push it's way
Up through the stubborn sod.
I believe in miracles....
For I believe in God.'
CONCLUSION:
So remember that it will be worth it all....when we see Christ.
But let His miracles work in you every day!
Robert Schuller has entitled one of his books, 'Believe in God Who Believes in You'.
I hope that you do and that you will let the Christ of Christmas into every day and hour of your life.
Remember, the worst fool (according to the Bible) is that one who says in his heart, 'There is no God' (Psalms 14:1)
Two Scriptures come to mind:
Deuteronomy 4:29:
"You shall seek the Lord thy God and find Him if you seek with all your heart and soul."
Jeremiah 29:11-14 emphasizes
'You shall seek me and find me when you search with all your heart.'
Praying that you will have a BLESSED week!
