Does it seem to you that lately, no one wants to step forth and take responsibility for anything? Everyone wants to point fingers and shift the blame somewhere-ANYWHERE-else.

I know how hard it can be to admit to a failure, a wrongdoing, a crime. It's uncomfortable and humiliating. It's embarrassing! People talk unkindly about you, they whisper, some of them may even turn their backs on you as you approach.
If you're a Christian, not only do you have to deal with the fallout of your mistake, but you must, in spite of any hurt you are suffering, take measures to restore your testimony. This should be the starting point. I firmly believe that Christians will fall harder over their mistakes due to the fact of their relationship with God. Unbelievers love it when a Christian makes a mistake; they scratch their heads in bewilderment when a Christian admits to it!

Our responsibility lies at the feet of Our Lord. When we err, we must be willing to confess, sometimes publicly, before we can move ahead.

I write this as a reminder that you are not perfect. You will goof up at some point. You will be wrong sometimes. If you don't think you make any mistakes or you think you are always right, then please, do a little more digging in the Bible. You may have found Jesus, but you may need to work on your discipleship more.

Christians need to set the standard. We need for others to view us as real people, prone to the same dilemmas and issues and mishaps that everyone else has. We need to come down off the steeple and demonstrate grace in action, freely admitting our mistakes, and freely FORGIVING our brethren in theirs.

Learn how to stand out by standing up wherever you find yourself. Don't run away and hide. There's no shame in the truth, and the truth is we all make mistakes, and we all always will.

It's what you do after you've blundered that matters.
