Part of our homeschool activity involves ministry. We are always looking for ways to minister to people and to bring the Good News of Jesus to all we meet.

So we have been brainstorming on how we can reach people in a very loving and non threatening way.

Three things came to my attention lately.

First is our actions when we are out in public. Whenever our homeschool group is out and about, we are always approached by people that cannot believe how thoughtful and well behaved our children are. Now mind you, we don’t always think of our children as well behaved, but they seem to stand out above all the rest. This has always given us a chance to the testimony of the success of raising children with an education based on parental love, guidance and most importantly, the Love of God and His Holy Word. This area we have a huge support group for homeschoolers and Bible based textbooks, so that area of our ministry is pretty well covered.

The next two things are what we would love feedback and encouragement for.

When out eating at a Chinese restaurant once, we were approached by the waiter who showed us something a Christian had left with the tip. It was a beautifully made card that has a picture of Jesus on it and the Good News of Salvation written on the back. The waiter thought it was wonderful and it opened the door to talking to that person and showing an interest in his life and the chance to share more about Christ. I think of how often I meet with people in public and don’t really have a chance like that because someone was thoughtful enough to leave the Good News for those who are interested.


The second time was when we have worn our T-shirts from a Rebecca Saint James concert we attended. The one shirt we get the most response to, is the one that says, “I Love Jesus” inside a big pink heart. The shirts have opened many doors to ministering to people that we would not have had before.

So we have decided that a great way to open the door for the Good News is to wear shirts or leave little cards when we go out into public places.

Now this is where we would love some feedback.

If you have any great suggestions for short, extremely positive messages about our Lord Jesus, we would love to hear them.

We are going to take these to the printer on a regular basis, so that we can have shirts and cards made up.
