Cerberus is found in the hearts of Your enemies,
And seeks to bite at the heels of my spirit;

They taunt and tempt my soul
To the grieving of my heart;
Many claim the fear of You,
And are found as wanting tares;
Like weeds, they seek to sap the strength
Of those who love You, Lord;

Their hearts despise You and Your grace;
They think to sin,
And then run back to Your mercy;

Yet You will not be mocked,
And they will reap what they sow;

May Your goodness provoke them to repentance;

Still, Father, my eyes are on You;
You have granted me a steadfast heart,
To the rejoicing of my inner being;
I seek obedience,
And You grant victory;
I sing and dance to the glory found in You,
And in my spirit;

Let my resistance mock and reprove them…

You took my sin and gave me Your kingdom;
I also have the King;
You give through the love that is everlasting;
You reveal wondrous mysteries,
You show me awful majesties,
My words reflecting my failing heart and mind;
In my folly, I seek to declare Your glory;

I do not have these because You found me lovely,
It was simply Your desire to bless me so;

Grant me two graces:
Sift my affections, Lord,
And leave behind that which is Your delight;
Let remain what is of Your making;

Reduce me to ash,
That only Your Son would remain;
It is only then that my heart will be content;
Only You can be the rejoicing of my heart;

O, my Father;
Do not be pleased
Until I am found in Your fashion;

Grant me also grace to forget that which is behind me,
To include my victories;
Let me not think I have attained the unattainable,
Or think that I stand, lest I fall;

Grant me my heart’s desire,
And I will sing Your praise;
I will glorify You
With all that You have given me;
I will show You off,
With every ounce of my existence;

Praise to the Lord most high!
