Encouragement
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice evermore.
Pray without ceasing.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
I write a lot about storms and trials, and today as I was contemplating this passage of scripture I was thinking how we often fail to give thanks when everything is going smooth! Truth be told, although there are many storms in our lives, we do have moments when things go right! It is in these times that we must not forget to rejoice, to continue praying and to give thanks!
I’ve been guilty of spending hours in prayer, searching for an answer to a problem, only to get on the other side of the crisis and trim down on the prayer life! This is wrong! We must rejoice in the good times and in the bad! We must pray without ceasing! We must remember to give thanks in every situation!
So, today if you are sitting with friends and family and enjoying dinner; rejoice and give thanks! There will be many who will be alone and will have an empty table!
If you are experiencing good health and your children are healthy; be thankful! There are many who will be spending the day in the hospital! There are many who lost loved ones due to sickness!
I could go on and on, but you get the picture! We must give thanks in the good and in the bad! We truly are a blessed people and have a reason to rejoice! If all else fails, and you can’t find one good thing about your life to rejoice about, then focus on Jesus and the sacrifice He made so that you and I will know and experience life – here and in eternity!
Jesus we thank You today for all of our many blessings! Sometimes we fail to acknowledge You when things are going good! Forgive us Lord for our complacency and help us Lord to have a heart of thanksgiving; a song of praise on our lips and maybe even a dance in our step! We acknowledge that You are at work in our lives and we thank You!
In Your Mighty and Holy name we pray! AMEN

"Numbers 6:24,25,36"
Yes, there are many who will be sick and/or hurting. My wife will be working in the hospital today, and knowing her, she will be trying to pass along a lot of encouragement to her patients who have found themselves in the hospital this Thanksgiving. I have a sister who is in the hospital recovering from multiple heart bypass surgery. She is thankful to be alive. God bless you as you continue to pen for His glory.
