Prayers

God remains the same in the peaks of life as He is in the troughs. Therefore, I will lift my eyes to Him at all times.
I thank Him for the peaks; when He enables me to rise, achieve, succeed and acquire the good things of life with ease. I thank Him for when I have the comfort of friends and family and sweet fellowship with the saints. I bless the Lord for when I land a good job after a long search. Glory be to God when He gives me a great investment idea that flourishes. Thanks be to God when my productivity soars beyond my expectation; my children are doing well in school, there is peace at home and I ride the peaks in the name of the Lord.

Nevertheless, I will not despair when the storms of life appear. I know, that I know, that my God is ever-present. He is not just a God Who is present in the present darkness and aloof, but He is very present, actively involved, working everything together for my good. No challenge or crisis will come to me without going through His divine approval.
My mind may lie to me and tell me what I go through is uncommon , but my heart says, ‘There is no temptation, taken you that is not common to man , but God is faithful and will through the temptation also make a way of escape..’ The name of the Lord is a strong tower and the righteous run into it and are saved. God does not abandon the work of His hands. He said, ‘I am the Lord, I change not’. He said, 'I am the Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering {, extraordinarily patient} and abundant (super- abundant) in goodness and in truth.'

He called Abraham to go to the Promised Land but allowed famine to rear its head. But He also made a way of escape when Abraham wised-up and returned to Canaan. He called the children of Israel out of Egypt but allowed the Red sea to cause a confrontation. Yet, through it all God showed His glory and power to call and to keep and protect in spite of that day of contention and calamity. He parted the Red Sea when Moses used his authority, believing in the God who called him and gave him the authority to 'call the things that be not as though they were', like Abraham. God demonstrated that He was the God of the Land and the Sea-the peaks and the troughs.

I thank You, for the authority I have in Christ. I offer praise to You my God, Who always causes me to triumph. Thank You for Your Spirit that empowers and anoints me for battle. Moreover, the battle is not mine but Yours.

And when they crossed the sea the same God allowed the trial of the dryness and waterlessness to confront them. In spite of the bitter waters of Mara, God had a plan to bring sweetness from that bitterness. He was training them for the future although they did not understand. But this day I renew my mind and reaffirm your goodness and the truth of Your word- ‘and they shall know the truth, and the truth shall set them free.’

Your word remains the same. It will accomplish that which You please. Your word is spirit and it is life. You have all power. The earth in all its fullness belongs to You. There is nothing too hard for You, So, I will, like Job, ‘wait until my change comes.’ 'Better is the end thereof than the beginning.' Job was challenged, but also changed and doubly blessed

Therefore, I will look beyond my circumstances and see from Your perspective. I refuse to give credence to my enemies who seek to deceive, to ensnare, kill and destroy. I look to You, Who came to give me life and life in its fullness. You will make a way where there seems to be no way.

Situations of famine are replete in Your word and Isaac was no stranger to them. He feared and was on a flight away from apparent financial ruin and doom but You intervened and asked him to do the illogical- “ Do not leave, Stay in the land in spite of the famine.’ It looked and sounded ridiculous. But as Isaac was sensitive to You and obeyed, You brought about the miraculous.

Speak to me, O Lord. Your sheep will hear Your voice and the voice of a stranger he will not follow. David did the same when he was in danger. He enquired of You and You directed him as to what to do. Speak, Lord, Your servant is listening.
Holy Spirit, lead me in the way I should go. Guide me with Your eyes. Let me hear Your voice saying to me, ’This is the way, walk in it.’

Therefore, those who have come against me in one way will flee in seven ways, in confusion. The angel of the Lord shall rise up against them and drive them away. The glory of the Lord shall cover my life as the waters cover the sea. The troughs that have confronted me will be turned around to make me tough and robust to give honour and glory to my Maker. He turns the wilderness into a river and field of fruitfulness. He makes a way in the driest of places. He makes the valley of dry bones rise up as a great army to show that He is God and there is nothing too hard for Him.

My dark patches are pregnant with opportunities and the Lord will open my eyesMy eyes shall be opened like Hagar to see the well beside her. My eyes shall be opened, like Abraham, to see the ram caught in the bush nesrby; to see what You have ordained and provided for me and harness them for a testimony that will stand the test of time. I will not be ashamed for putting my trust in the living God.

Like Isaac, I will keep on digging wells in faith; in spite of Argument who has raised his ugly head in the enemy camp as a result of your breakthroughs in the past. Yes, regardless of Mr Contention and Mrs Opposition - enemies, the blood of Jesus speaks better things for me. And I will not relent but keep on digging and trying, trusting in the Everlasting Arms that are underneath me. God is my refuge and will make a way. Room Enough is coming like it came to Isaac(Gen 26), like it came to Elijah, like it came to Jehosephat. God is no respecter of persons. Successful completion is coming like it came to Nehemiah and Solomon.


I shall be on an even keel in spite of the peaks and the troughs of life. My life is not dependent on things or the present. It is not where I am that matters but where I am going. Destiny shall speak on my behalf. The purposes of God shall be accomplished in a peak or in a trough. 'Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.' God is with me. His Sprit and His truth and word of prophecy, comfort and reassure me. Glory be to God.
