"Do everything without complaining or arguing so that you may become blameless and pure children of Godwithour fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as to you hold out the word of life-in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labour for nothing."
Phillipians 2:14-16

My pastor spoke on something today and then I came across this passage and they kind of went together. He was talking about a recent mission trip to Turkey, the to Germany for a few days. Both nations are a spiritual mess. In Turkey, there are only 3,000 Christians, the rest Islamic. And in Germany, there are many churches, but each church has only about 20 members at most and they do not preach the message of hope that comes with the gospel. There is no life in these churches. No healings, no Holy Spirit, no praise, nothing. Just buildings. Basically, he was telling us that the world we are living in is a mess and it is becoming spiritually dead.
I think Paul kind of knew that the message he was speaking was not just for the Christians of his day but also for Christians in the future. We need to be lights in this very dark, spiritually poor world. When it is dark out, and the stars shine, we NOTICE the stars. You cannot ignore a whole sky full of stars, they are right there, shining bright for all to see. Jesus told us to be a city of light on a hill(Matthew 5:14), and not to hide our light, but to shine it, so all may see.
If you know Jesus, you have a wonderful secret that needs to be told to others! You hold the key to hope, and boy, do people need hope. They need it like they need water, and they need the lies of the enemy like they need a hole in the head, lol. The enemy has been roaming around stealing souls long enough. It is GODS turn to win souls for His kingdom and HE WANTS TO USE US! This world needs Jesus BIG TIME. People are lost and hurting, and they need hope. I see it in my own community, i hear about it around the world. God will use you if you are willing. All you have to do is say "yes, Lord" and He will use your life to reflect Christs love. This world is dark, but it is not without hope. Let us live our lives in a way that make others wonder what we have. ANd when they ask, let us show them!
