The ultimate thing that I want to have in my life is to be in God’s presence. There is no higher goal than wanting Him more everyday. As I wait upon Him daily, the treasure I get is His manifested presence. He wants to talk to me more than I know how to talk to Him. He brings me to a place that all I wanted is Him and Him alone, and nothing else.

The presence of God is one of the things in life that I will never trade for anything else. As He gets hold of me everyday, I want to stay close and still before Him. I want to draw close to Him and tell Him everything that is in my heart. I want to touch Him just as He touched me. To be in His presence is to be in heaven. I can experience heaven while on earth with Him, because He brings me to a place that no one and no place can bring me to. I want that place with Him daily as I walk and talk with Him every moment of my life. I want to fall in love with Him every second of my life because there is nothing that I desire more than I desire Him.

How do we walk in intimacy with Him and to be in His presence? Firstly, we must examine ourselves daily, as to who we are in Him. We must not let sin mar our lives so that we will have that close relationship with Him. We must cleanse ourselves daily and leave no sin unconfessed, and we must constantly repent of our wrongdoing. Keeping a pure and right relationship with Him and be holy before His presence is a noble thing. Secondly, righteousness and holiness must be our aim everyday, to please and serve Him with fear and trembling for His name sake. We want to keep our ways pure so God can visit us and reveal His plans to us.

To walk in God’s presence, we must be willing to pay the price. It means everything when we want to follow God. We must surrender everything to Him in order to allow Him to work in us. He is in the business of cleansing and molding us to be the person that He wants us to be. Like a potter, He is constantly shaping us and guiding us to the place that He wants us to be. He usually does it through pain and suffering. It is when we go through trials, that we can see our true nature in ourselves, and that is the time when we want to cry out to Him to lift us out of whatever condition we may be in and ask Him to come and mode us to be His perfect vessel. For example, when we pray for patience, it is just at that knit of a moment that something of irritation or impatienceness will hit us that we began to realize that patience is something that we need to work at. Or it could be self-control that we are asking God for breakthrough, that just at that moment something may happen that will cause us to exercise self-control.

The presence of God breaks every yoke. Whatever we may be carrying, the burden will just roll off, and God takes over if we give all our concerns to Him. In times of difficulties and trials, it is God’s presence that sustains us and we take comfort in Him. Pain only draws us even closer to Him, as we know we are dependent upon Him.

Our characters are built and developed as we spend time in His presence. We exchange our weaknesses for His glory and might. God demonstrates His power and glory to us when we are at our weakest. Just like Paul said, when I am weak, then I am strong. We are shaped into His image and character, and we lived holy life, pleasing Him all the time.

We take delight in His presence as we tell Him how much we loved Him. We take delight in His presence as He takes delight in us. Ps 37:4. We belong to Him and will do everything to keep in His presence. May we experience the manifested presence of God all the time.
