I almost died yesterday. It was close but by God’s grace I survived. The day seemed like any other, but little did I know my worst enemy was planning to kill me that day. It should have been obvious to me I should have seen it coming, but I didn’t.
It is always in times of weakness when he attacks and boy was I weak. I had just lost my job and my defenses were low. I was sad and my state of emotion was like blood in the water, my enemy could pick up the scent a mile away.
I said I almost died yesterday but the attacks were heavy since the night before I barely made it to my house, to my wife, my beautiful wife. Just to think it was all jeopardized. Just to think I almost lost everything I hold precious, it’s scary.
I thank God now that I’m a survivor of this horrible death that almost happened. I thank Him because it is because of Him I’ve survived this and many other near death experiences. What happened? You must be asking yourselves, how was he attacked? Was there lots of blood?
Well, I’ll spare you the gory details but I’ll just let you know that the arrows that were thrown in my direction were very poisonous and dangerous. They had traps of such sophistication you would walk into one and the sweet perfume of the bait would almost hypnotize you and you would lose direction.
You would lose direction like when you’re trying to swim to shore but the waves and wind shake you up so much you forget the path toward dry land, where it is safe. If it wasn’t for my lifeguard I would have been lost. He guided me away from the storm. He carried me away from the trap and threw away the poisonous bait I almost swallowed.
My life was in danger. The life that was bought with precious blood some two thousand and some years ago. My enemy did not win… and although I know that’s not the last I’ll see of him, I feel safe because I have a savior I can depend on. Some one who’s been through all types of attacks and has had victory over them all.

Insightful. This is a topic that deserves to be drawn out in detail and I get the impression that you could do that. It could be 50 times longer and because of the first sentence I would read it. I think you stopped short of reaching the goal you had for painting this picture.
