The setting sun paints the clouds
a magenta portrait of beauty --
another day fades,
another vapor gone
and I wonder:
Have I done all I could
or all I should
to make a difference?
I don't think so.
My harvest thus far
is weak
because I've sown
so little.
I want to sow much.
But how can I
make that difference?
The difference has to take place
in me first
before I can do anything good
for a single other person.
I yearn for a droplet
on my dry tongue,
but I know what it does to me.
It leaves me thirsting greedily
for the River.
Oh well,
my soul,
praise God anyway.
And let the River flow.
Praise Him!
Praise Him!
Praise Him!
Flow River! Flow!
Let the overflow
reach out and touch
someone else in need,
someone whose tongue
cries out for a droplet.
Who am I
that I should possess
even but the smallest seed?
Ah, but a little child
of the Most High!
