LORD’S MEETING WITH A BROKEN MAN

Reference: ‘Holy Bible’-Judges 6: verses (v) 1-16.

In this passage, Lord gave Israelites in the hands of Midianites since they sinned against HIM (v: 1).Midianites oppressed Israelites and so they cried out to Lord (v: 2-6).Lord chose Gideon (Israelite) to save Israelites from Midianites. ‘Midianites’ indicates the clutches of satan.

1. SEEING YOUR LITTLE EFFORT
Gideon (Israelite) was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from Midianites (v: 11).Lord saw his little effort and met him. Although you wish to lead a holy life, you are still succumbing to temptations (Midianites) quite often. You may be totally broken in the struggle for holy life. But Lord is seeing your wish and HE will surely help you to overcome the flesh (Midianites).HE consecrates HIS people (Levictus 20:8).Take your wish to Almighty and hope for a deliverance.

2. WORD OF GOD TO A BROKEN MAN:
Gideon was also under the oppression of Midianites. But his effort to protect the wheat (soul) brought Lord to him. Lord encouraged broken Gideon and promised that HE was with him (v: 12).You may be under the clutches of satan (fleshy deeds) but plead Lord earnestly to protect your soul and listen to HIS word. Definitely Lord will make you more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37).

3. STRENGTHENING LORD:
Lord called Gideon as a mighty warrior (v: 12).Actually Gideon’s family was the weakest in Manasseh (v: 15).Weak and broken Gideon was struggling to keep the wheat from Midianites. But Lord strengthened him by calling ‘mighty warrior’. The perception of Lord is always different from human perception. Lord convicts (John 16:8) when we sin but never criticizes. HE never discourages a failing believer but strengthens to overcome the flesh (Midianites).Lord knows our weakness. Believe HIS strengthening words and HE will make you victorious.

4. LORD IS WITH YOU:
Lord said to Gideon, “I am with you” (v: 12).Gideon replied, “If Lord is with us, why has all this happened?”. Satan always focuses our falls, gives guilty conscience and prevents to believe HIS word. But Lord loves you more irrespective of your present condition. Never listen to satan, but condemn his words in the mighty name of Lord. Lord is with you to help (to overcome the flesh).Satan will flee from you. Lord will never forsake you.

5. LORD’S COMMAND FOR GOOD FIGHT:
Lord said to Gideon, “Go in the strength you have (v: 14) against Midianites”.It is must to enter the battle field and fight Satan. You may have very little strength and might have been defeated many times. But Lord wants you to go in the strength you have (which you got from Lord by your earnest prayer) to the battle field (good fight for holiness).Dismay not, Lord is with you to deliver.
6. LORD WHO SENDS:
Lord said to Gideon, “Am I not sending you?”(v: 14).When Lord sends you to battle field, there is no doubt in victory. HIS promises never fail. Believe Lord and HIS powerful words to lead a holy life. Everyday ask Lord to send (equip) you to (for) the battle field. You cannot face the enemy (satan) without Lord. Lord who sends is faithful to protect you (your soul) in the battle field.

7. AMALGAM OF INABILITIES:
Gideon couldn’t believe the words of Almighty because his family was the weakest in Manasseh and he was the least in his family (v: 15).You too may have no hope to lead a holy life. You might have fallen many times and may think that Lord has abandoned you. So far you might have been miserably yielded to temptations. But today Lord wishes to touch your weak points. Lord likes to bring a marvelous change and to deliver you from all strongholds.

8. CONQUERING EASILY:
But Lord said to Gideon, “I will be with you and you will strike down the Midianites together as one man” (v: 16).With the power of Almighty, we can conquer very easily and a complete deliverance is sure. Never feel guilty and go away from Lord. Seek HIS ‘throne of grace’ for mercy, confess truly and enjoy victory everyday.

9. BLESSING TO MANY:
Lord promised Gideon that HE would use him to save Israel out of Midian’s hand (v: 14).When we listen to Lord, Lord will consecrate and equip us to save perishing souls. We will become a blessing to many. Your good fight will become a lesson to others.

10. HAVE A MEETING WITH LORD:
Everyday have a meeting (pray to Lord) with Almighty. Lord has won our sins in Calvary. The blood of Christ will protect you. Stand firmly in the name of Lord Jesus Christ and defeat the devil. Good Samaritan (Christ) is faithful to heal your wounds caused by past failures (satan). In Christ, we are mighty warriors. Let us start the good fight and celebrate the victory.

WISHES IN JESUS NAME
