There is a strong delusion in the land, believed by millions of people, consciously or unconsciously. But truth cuts through the dross without fear or favor. America is not a "chosen" nation. Americans are not "chosen" people. And neither are Jews or any other special nationality. "There is neither Jew nor Gentile, male nor female, bond nor free, but all are one in Christ Jesus." Gal. 3:28 The ground is level at the cross. It was a hard lesson for Peter, but he got it. I'm not sure we have. "Then Peter said, 'In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality, but in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.'" Acts 10:34, 35

We have become selective in our obedience. There is a deafening silence of prayers for our enemies (except perhaps for the Amish). "But I say to you, love your enemies, pray for those who curse you, and do good to those who hate you and pray for those who despitefully use and persecute you that you may be children of your Father in heaven for He makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good snd sends rain on the just and the unjust." Matt. 5:44,45.

And there is a woeful neglect of checking out the fruits before we buy the tree. "Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits." Matt. 7:15, 16.

Hype is the slippery slope to hypocrisy, and our world is full of it. We need to pray for wisdom from above. "If any of you lacks wisdom let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given him." James 1:5. We need to listen for the Spirit's leading. "But when the Spirit of Truth has come, He will guide you into all truth. "John 16:13. And finally we must be gut-wrenchingly honest(unpopular though it may be) lest we be caught up in believing a dangerous delusion.
