“AWAKENING”

My eyes slowly opening,
I gaze to look at the shinning sun.
As my eyes open wider, I see
another beautiful day GOD has begun.

As I look at the sky so soft and blue.
I hear a small voice inside me say.
“Oh, thank you LORD for one
more beautiful day!”

Under my breath or out loud I say:
“Thank you LORD for bringing
me through the night.”
“So I may see the morning light.”

The sky looks like it’s opening
To let YOUR arms come through.
I lay there thinking.
What this day will bring new.

I stare as I see birds flying,
Just like an Angel with wings.
As I listen closely to their sounds.
It’s like an “Angel” singing.

Although there is snow on the
ground glistening.
GOD is still speaking to me,
and I am listening.
With all my heart, you see.
So I may live with HIM eternally.

I slowly start my day.
HE let’s me know this is the only way.
To live each day one day at a time.
Also to remind me of the day.
Little did the hundreds know HE
would say.
“Loaves and fishes multiply and
water change into wine.”

For only HE knows if we’ll make it
through the day or night.
To see the breaking of the clouds
Of another morning’s light.
As HIS arms come through.
It’s the most beautiful sight.

GOD reminds me of the cost,
JESUS paid dying for my sins on the cross.
You know JESUS did it for you and me.
So we could live with Him eternally.
Each morning as I rise, I never forget
GOD gave up His only Son,
So we may be alive.
