Just As You Are
To those with broken hearts
And those young up starts
Those from near and far
Jesus loves you just as you are
For those addicted to worldly vices
And they who live with internal crisis
Come from the street or from a bar
Jesus loves you just as you are
To those who peddle dangerous ware
Or oppress the downtrodden without care
In times of peace and in time of war
Jesus loves you just as you are
Only One can have this much love
Forgiving grace from high above
Accept the Bright Morning Star
Jesus loves you just as you are
Brethren,
This message has been on my heart as I have been in fast and prayer. I was asked to do an invocation for our induction ball last night. As I was asking the Father what shall I pray, He revealed that I need to tell the crowd that Jesus loves them just as they are. My concern was the various beliefs and backgrounds of the group. I did not want to intentionally offend, but I could not pray outside of my own beliefs. So the Lord revealed to me that “Jesus loves each of them just as they are”. So with microphone in hand I obeyed. I stood at the podium and told each member there what we should tell everyone we meet. Jesus loves you…just as you are. Then I prayed in Jesus name.
It is easy to get wrapped up in church and with fellow believers, especially if you have a loving church like ours. I find it easy to slip into that comfort zone and forget about our true mission, to spread the gospel to all the world. Yes we are called together for worship and fellowship. Church is a great thing and a needed thing, but I must remind myself not to lose focus on the lost.
I thank God for the opportunity I was given on Wednesday evening. I was asked to fill in for our Youth pastor. No problem I thought, just give me the curriculum and I can do it. Of course, that would be too easy. No curriculum. So I prayed what the Lord would have me share with the youth group. His answer was EVANGELISM. We must reach the lost. We must love everyone as Jesus would have us love them…Just as they are.

1 Corinthians 9:22 NAS
To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak; I have become all things to all men, so that I may by all means save some.
And I remember the Lords command ringing in my heart when He said, "Let Love Evangelism begin!"
I get the feeling He is speaking the same to your heart as well, Brother Christian.
1 Corinthians 13:13 NAS
But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love. - just as you are!
